Which one are you?
I'm new - I'd like to join
Tap the "Sign up for the test" button and fill in the form with the Google account you'll use in the Google Play app on your phone. A different account is the single most common reason the app looks unavailable later.
Wait for my confirmation email. I add addresses in batches, usually within a day. Don't try to install before my confirmation arrives - it won't work yet.
When the confirmation arrives, come back to this page and open "I'm on the tester list" above: its first step is accepting the invitation, which is what makes Hapka visible in Google Play. The email carries the same link.
You'll need an Android phone.
I'm on the tester list
Whether you tested before or I've just added you - no form, four steps:
Open the test opt-in page (the button at the bottom) with the invited Google account and accept the invitation. Google Play shows Hapka only to accounts that have. If you tested in an earlier round and never left, you are already opted in - the page will simply say so.
Then install or update from Google Play, signed in with that same account. If it says Open, open it and carry on.
Stay in the program for the whole round - I'll email you when it closes. Please don't tap "Leave the program" in the meantime: Google counts 14 continuous days, and leaving and rejoining starts that count over for you.
If an update appears, install it.
• If Google Play says "Not found" or "App not available", either the invitation has not been accepted yet, or the account selected in Chrome and in the Play app is not the invited one. The section below walks through both.
I have a problem installing
Google Play says "App not available", or there is no Install button: first, have you accepted the invitation? Being on my list is not the same as being opted in - open the test opt-in page, accept it, then try Play again.
- Still nothing: the account selected in Chrome and the account selected in the Google Play app have to be the same one, and it has to be the address you gave me. On the phone: Play → your avatar, top right → switch account. Then open the test link again.
- The page opens but the app isn't there: a closed listing isn't public, so it looks missing to anyone who isn't opted in. If you're sure you're on the list, give it a few minutes after opting in - Play needs a moment to catch up.
- Hapka opens in the browser instead: that's the website. It works, and you're welcome to it, but it does not count for this test at all. The one that counts is the icon Google Play put on your home screen.
- Were you in the earlier internal test? Write to me before you change anything about your participation - don't leave the closed program and don't uninstall the app just to check something.
- Still stuck: email support@hapka.app with the Google address you're signing in with and your phone model, and I'll check it against the tester list myself.
If you feel like trying more (entirely optional)
Beyond real meals.
- Enter a meal as text: "two eggs and a slice of bread".
- Photograph a meal before you eat it - the camera button in Today.
- Scan the barcode on a packaged product.
- Add water during the day and see how the reminders behave.
- Recalculate your daily targets in Settings.
- If a trainer gave you a meal plan, try uploading it to the app as a PDF or as text.
What I'm asking for
Use the Android app every day as a food diary: log the meals you actually eat.
It has to be the app installed from Google Play - opening hapka.app in a browser does not count, because Google only measures what was installed.

I am running this round 9 September - 24 September. Please stay in the program until I email you that it has closed - Google counts each tester's own continuous days, not a calendar on my site.
Good to know
Hapka is for adults aged 18 or over.
Most of your data - profile, history, photos - stays on your device unless you sign in. Some of what you type, and a photo when you tap Recognize, is sent to an external service to identify the foods. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
Calorie and protein values are estimates, not medical advice.
Which build you're on is whatever the Google Play page shows.
